Hi Rob, I have just enrolled and excited to become a great produce....I have just had a detail look at the website and I enjoy your tutorials. I am sure this course will be fun.

I have been DJing for 3 years now (www.myspace.com/adnanbalushi) and now I have a new studio set up and looking to enhance my skills using Ableton, APC40 and Novation SL MKII

Cheers

Hi,
thanks for the course which i hope will help me get my head round everything i need to learn about live.

Heres what im workin with as follows :

Ableton Live 8.0.1

Akai Apc 40

Novation x staion 25...( cant set this up really annoying me its got to many faders and knobs) help

MacBook Pro
Model Identifier:    MacBookPro5,3
Processor Name:    Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed:    2.8 GHz
Number Of Processors:    1
Total Number Of Cores:    2
L2 Cache:    6 MB
Memory:    4 GB
Bus Speed:    1.07 GHz

I purchased and Akai apc 40 with a version of live 8.0.1 which i seem to have got my head round but ive purchased the ableton course so sto start from scratch..I have downloaded the course pack and everything seems to be fine, however when i try and open the the first session in the session pack to get started i get an error message explaining that the document was created by a newer and incompatible version of live than this which is stopping me from getting going ... i have set up the bass station plug in and entered the serial number ... (not got a clue what to do with it )..
Please can you let me no how to contact the instructors Monday - friday i really want to get started with live and thank you.

Hey David,

I missed this post! Are you set up okay now? You need to update Live by going to the Ableton website and getting the latest version - 8.1.1 Then all the sessions will open fine.....

Glad you've got the Bass Station installed. Don't worry, you'll learn more about it later in the course. There's an introduction to Synthesizing module. Also good that you have the X-Station. It may seem complex right now but it's a superb product!

Let me know how you're getting on....

Cheers,

Rob
