Since 1200 Technics are not made anymore is there anything comparable on the market. I realize they can be purchased used, I was just looking for outside opinions. I am actually looking for a mate for my SL 1210 MK5. Its partner is failing.

Vestax 2000s are pretty good. There's nothing quite like a Technics though, so you'd have to get used to the new mechanics, torque etc. Having an uneven pair might be weird too, so perhaps you'd be better off finding a second hand technics for the mate!
